Qantas confirmed
Sydney–London as the inaugural
Project Sunrise route, with the world's longest nonstop passenger flight due to begin in October 2027. The service will be flown by the
Airbus A350-1000ULR, capable of covering the 17016 KM great circle distance in up to 22 hours.
The first of 12 aircraft, named Vega, is due for delivery in April 2027, with tickets on sale from February 2027. Sydney–New York is confirmed as the second route.
