LH to operate 18.000 unnecessary Flights

Lufthansa plans to cut 33,000 flights (about 10% of the flight plan) from its winter schedule due to the Omicron Covid-19 wave.

The German airline would have cut an additional 18,000 flights if it didn't have to comply with European Union regulations on slot usage (secure take-off and landing rights).

In almost every other part of the world climate-friendly exemptions from these regulations are found.
